Cyberpunk 2077 release/game info and common answers

CTRL+F to search for stuff or, if you're on a phone, just be sad and scroll.

--Official Release/Preload Times--

From CDPR: https://twitter.com/CyberpunkGame/status/1334548241459933188
Pretty much what we knew on PC due to the GoG counter, but sadly seems console players have local midnight release. There you go!

--Is the game DRM Free? (ON PC, obviously)--

Yes. CDPR is vehemently against DRM, and the DRM-free nature of Cyberpunk has been confirmed by journalists. Whether it's Steam, GoG, or Epic Game Store, you will be able to run the game without any of them open, and YES, you can technically just copy and paste the game onto 20 computers if you wanted. That's just what DRM-free means, but PLEASE support the developers.
Again, this obviously doesn't include stuff like consoles or Stadia which are inherently locked by nature.

--Difference between Steam and GoG?--

Ultimately, no differences. Both are DRM free, both have achievements, both will update at the same time. CDPR, the makers of Cyberpunk 2077, own GOG, so if you buy it from there the devs get 100% of your money. Every platform will get its own comic and on Steam you get an exclusive short story; they'll all probably be all over the internet in 5 seconds though, if you really care.

--PC Performance or "Can I run it?"--

Here are the official hardware requirements, but I'll tell you now that no one really knows how it'll actually run in reality because they've given us no information about FPS targets on PC (we can probably safely assume 60, as that is the standard on PC).
Anyway, here is the RTX ray tracing gameplay trailer for the 30xx unicorns.
AMD and thus next-gen console raytracing will come eventually, but right now it's limited to Nvidia GPUs.

--Will there be official modding support?--

CDPR has been inconsistent with official support for their games. Their official word for Cyberpunk 2077 specifically is "not at the moment" because they want to focus on the core game, which I guess isn't a no. Witcher 2 actually had RedKit for official modding support, and Cyberpunk 2077 uses an upgraded version of the same engine, so it's possible a new RedKit will be released someday.
However, even without modding support at the start, Witcher 3 still had a ton of modding. Most notably, the infamous nudity mods that gave gamers the world over the joy of seeing Geralt's buttery buttocks all the time instead of just in a few scenes, because no one cared about anyone else's buttocks, obviously.
With the popularity of the game, though, CDPR would be bonkers to not officially add modding support, and honestly, the modding community probably won't care even if they don't.
So that's kind of where we're at: A solid WE SHALL SEE.

--Next-gen Patch? How does it run on consoles?--

Note that CDPR hasn't said a single thing about FPS/resolution targets on any of the consoles either, sorry. IMO this is really something they should revealed already, but meh.
Next-gen patch is planned for next year; CDPR has not given a date. The game runs a bit better on next-gen consoles, but will not have any next-gen features or graphical enhancements until this patch.
Here is the official X Box One X and Series X gameplay.
Here is the official PS5 and PS4 Pro gameplay.
Note that outside of these videos, all gameplay has been on high end PCs, so please don't let your expectations get out of hand due to the trailers. No gameplay has been shown on the base models. CDPR says it runs fine, but, again, I'd seriously taper my expectations.
Cyberpunk 2077 will offer a fee next-gen copy of the game for those who buy an old-gen version, so you don't have to buy the game twice. The game also features cross-saves between consoles of the same brand, detailed here for Sony and here for Microsoft.

--GoG Account Link Freebies?--

CDPR hasn't actually spoken about this, but they have mentioned there will be shirts and swords and other goodies if you own their prior games, and that it doesn't matter where you own them. Expect information this week, likely.

--Multiplayer--

This will be free for anyone who already owns the base game (so half the world, I guess). There's no release date, but it was expected in 2022 and may now release in 2023 instead. We don't have many details other than it's being headed by some MMO veterans and is a separate AAA project according to CDPR.
For people asking, it's actually old news that it'll be free (sorry couldn't find the original interview), but I guess they could change their minds over the next 2 years, and the way they worded it makes it sound like you will also be able to buy it as a standalone, but we don't know for sure. Plenty of journalists have confirmed this. (random example).

--Reviews?--

Still no info. Many places expected to get review copies still haven't gotten them, including those that got to sample the preview (like ACG), however it's assumed the major places like IGN and Gamespot do have keys. No word on when, but probably next week.

--Rapidfire Answers for the Questions You Keep Asking--

Not sure if I forgot anything but feel free to ask and I'm sure me or someone else will answer, and I'll add it if it's worthwhile.
Hopefully this will cut down a bit on repeat questions as we ramp up toward release and more and more newer folk join us.

TIFU by making my Dad punch a stripper in GTA and tearfully ask God for forgiveness in front of my entire family.

I was encouraged to post this here from a comment I made elsewhere, even though it didn’t happen today, or even this decade, so mods please remove if it goes against the rules. It’s a very funny story though.
When I was young, my brothers and I snuck a copy of San Andreas into the house. We spent days holed up in our basement taking turns playing, and down there my parents didn’t bother us too much. In order to get tons of money for guns (we had yet to figure out my parents’ dialup password so cheats weren’t a thing for us yet), we would go to the strip club and stand on the stage, absorbing the money dudes threw at the women and just let the game sit for 10-20 minutes. We had to be careful though because sometimes the strippers would do a move and bump into CJ and the bouncers would shoot the place up. One day while I was playing my mom yelled down to the basement at us to get ready, we’re going to Pizza Hut. In a stroke of genius, I drove to the GTA strip club, got on the stage, and then turned the TV off and we left. It was to be the heist of the century.
My dad, however, was at church at this time, practicing for a gospel concert he was singing in. He always filmed the practices so he could take notes at home upon playback, and this time was no different. While my mom and brothers and I were still at the Hut, he arrived at home and plugged his camcorder into the VCR. We had just one VCR, and it was connected to the basement TV.
Back at the Hut, my mom gets a phone call. She puts her napkin down and slowly looks around the table at us and says ‘ooookay’ a few times into the phone in this really calculating, specific way that she always did when she knew us kids were in trouble before we did. Naturally, it was at this point that we kids knew we were in trouble. For what, though, we didn’t know.
After a very quiet minivan ride, we get home and my mom says “Boys why don’t we go down to the basement. Your dad wants to show you his gospel practice downstairs.” It was then at THIS point we knew why we were in trouble. So we drag our feet down the stairs, and lo and behold, my dad is sitting on the couch, TV on, a stripper’s polygonal titties swung stiffly back and forth onscreen to En Vogue’s “My Lovin’”, with CJ standing mere inches away, collecting money.
My dad starts in, “boys I don’t even know where to begin. This PlayStation was a blessing to you for Christmas and this is how you repay us? By breaking our trust??” He is holding the controller up now, gesticulating with it. “Here I am, practicing to bring glory to God, and-“ but he was cut off, as he inadvertently squeezed the controller, causing CJ to punch the stripper.
My entire family stands in silence, watching together as the bouncers in the strip club shoot the place up for what seems like an eternity. After the shooting stops, and CJ appears in front of the hospital, I look back and see my mom silently weeping into her hand. I look at my dad as a single tear rolls down his cheek and he prays under his breath. After another eternity of silence, without a word, my dad bends down, disconnects the PlayStation, walks back to the family computer, disconnects it, goes to his car and drives away. For the next four months he kept the PS2 and PC locked in his office at work.
It’s one of my favorite memories of growing up. I miss my brothers.
TL;DR: Wasn’t allowed to play GTA growing up, of course got caught playing it, my dad interrupted his own lecture by accidentally punching a stripper and immediately asked for God’s forgiveness.
EDIT: Thanks so much for the response, I’m glad I could spread some laughs with this story! I just want to clarify that my parents weren’t crazy at all, so no need to insult them. I love them so much, they just got overzealous and dramatic from time to time. I had a really great childhood with two loving and involved parents who tried really, really hard to live and raise our family by their convictions. It just doesn’t always work out for everyone involved, like in this case, but it made for a great story that we can all laugh about now. I’m very much an atheist and my parents know it, but we still get along great :)
EDIT 2: Also my brothers aren’t dead, we’re all just spread out across the country now! I don’t get to see them very much anymore, that’s all!
EDIT 3: Alright now I’m not being so nice. I’m an atheist, but all you other atheist weirdos calling my parents crazy are weird. I hesitate to inform people I’m atheist because of houseplants like you. So self-informed on my life because you’re drunk on your own over-inflated, homuncular ideas about spirituality in people’s personal lives, it’s no wonder atheism isn’t a default sub anymore. Look how you’re acting, trying to tell me “bro you need to get out of there.” The story is over a decade old, apparently none of you can read! I shouldn’t be surprised at what I’m reading! However, if you do still feel inclined to let the pea that rolls around your empty head, whose sound you mistake for a competent thought, inform you of some truly transcendent comment in which you consider calling my parents whack jobs and nuts, it says way more about you and your small-mindedness in acting like you know better just because you have an internet connection and a lifetime full of trauma on your own. STOP BEING WEIRD NERDS IN THE COMMENTS.

FOR ME, Dogecoin has lost its worth as joke currency.

(Throwaway Account)
Speaking totally subjective here. I understand that I have a lot of unexpected money now and I should just be happy, but DOGE wasn't my first crypto, so it is just a small drop.
My brother and I bought a huge amount of Doge just to play with it. We game together when we visit each other and wanted to have a meaningless incentive to beat each other's Forza lap times or whatever. Imagine having to pay some imaginary money when you crashed your car in a rally game or you get busted in GTA.
We specifically used DOGE because it was never meant to be more than a joke currency. In my country, if you hold crypto for a certain amount of time and never trade it with the intention of speculating on it's value, you do not have to pay taxes on it. With DOGE, we could be (somewhat) safe from that. It was a joke, we used it as a joke, but now it has become serious in the market. This is not a bad thing for DOGE per sé, and definitely not for DOGE owners, but as I said, I am just talking about my personal story and outlook here.
I am not saying that it wasn't possible to get doge rising in value before the recent spike (otherwise it wouldn't have happened), but one can now see the push towards a DOGE economy (a good thing for the currency). One that is still tied somewhat to jokes and memes, but now it goes into more than that: I have seen the big post about people calling for Elon Musk to accept DOGE. This comes as no surprise as his followers and fans got into the market because of him and now want to test his loyalty ("if he really believes in it, he should sell his products in that currency, too!"). Maybe he should, maybe he shouldn't. It depends on what people want to use DOGE for. Should the currency be used to tip your favorite creator for making a meme, or do you eventually buy a Tesla and just need to hodl until you got that much? Can you do both or should you seperate your these economies? It is not my call to make, it will be all of us who do!
This push towards wide adoption of big companies that have nothing to do with internet jokes and memes, will unquestionably bring with it a huge gain in the value of DOGE, but it also will be going against what DOGE has been up to this point: jokes, memes, fun, and games. (Again, this is my interpretation of DOGE)
If wide adoption is going to happen through non-entertainment channels (I count Tesla into that), it also means that we have to treat DOGE as another Bitcoin with no added technology or value in the blockchain. Reddit accepting DOGE would definitely fit the currency's theme of being used in "the meme economy" - an economy of jokes where humor has a certain value. Do you want that value to be connected to the value of cars or should we be able to exchange the current value of humor for another currency that is used for transaction purposes like these?
In my opinion, if you want to INVEST, spend the majority of the money on other cryptos or shares (Bitcoin so you can satisfy your FOMO, Cardano if you are looking for something really exciting!). If you are a memelord and want to learn about crypto and the market, DOGE is currently really attractive and you should get 100 DOGE as your first deposit (currently you'd pay around 6$/5€) and get comfortable with the market while having a laugh.
Edit: Someone said I am against DOGE growth. This is not true. If you think DOGE will rocket to the moon, just board the rocket and I will be happy to see you there. What I am saying, though, is that there are other blockchains with really amazing technology that are good to have besides DOGE; DOGE is cool for learning the dynamics and mechanics, but you should diversify if you are getting into it because you want to invest in something.
I hope you all go to the moon (Elon Musk, my brother and I will be with you, bored that we cannot play video games for joke money anymore without it feeling wrong).

Skyrim and Fallout 4 Doesn't deserve the Hate it Gets

Seriously, everytime people talk about these games, the first word comes to your heads are BUGS game breaking bugs, game barely works, game crashing etc
But does anyone ever realize how big these games are in terms of complicatedness and why it's made like that?
I'll break it up in parts so it's easier to explain
The Engine
The engine isn't the problem, every game has limits, but people just has grown to ignore some of the other game's limitations; People complain in ES/F4 about mouth not moving aligned with words with convos, has buggy convos and lines. People complain in F4 about the 4 dialogue wheel. Dark souls characters mouth doesn't even move sometimes, but at least there's a dialogue wheel, where's your dialogue wheel in Souls, GTA and Final Fantasy when you want to talk to people around you on any moment.
You can't even attack npcs in witcher, you cant jump in resident evil games, shooting in hitman is stiff, monster hunter loads every after hunt, Final Fantasy NPCs can't be hurt even by monsters. Monsters cannot be in cities as you watch the entire guards rally up and get armor to defend the city.
Is there a script when a Monster attacks the city in Monster Hunter? No. Is there a script if you put a boss in Majula in Souls as people help you kill it? No. Is there are script for GTA npcs to help beat up a guy with a gun? No. In ES/F4 you can already imagine it all being scripted and has gameplay associated with almost all interactions.
Even in Divinity 2 OS, Divinity scripts are easier to do because it's a top down game, top down games are like Baldurs Gates, Disco Elysium etc. It's because the graphics of those games are less worked on compared to ES/F4. They have more time to focus on smaller details but sometimes ES/F4 still beat those games in scripts and situations. Some DOS2 characters just stand doing nothing staring at nothing waiting for you to talk to them. ES/F4 goes as far to script them eating and sleeping.
The reason why the engine is like this is simple, the complicatedness of the scripts is doable in this engine, think about it, can you change clothes of npcs in witcher? have you seen a single crash bandicoot modded stage made by a modder? have you seen a witcher new map location? have you seen a new dark souls location modded in? have you seen a new area modded in and has scripts in resident evil? All of it is no right? It's because the engine supports easier modding and easier access and scripting to the developers. If they change that or simply rehaul it from scratch they could end up killing half the mod support and ease of making big content for them.
The Coding and Scripts is the heaviest of all famous games
People don't realize how heavily scripted this game is. As in every character almost have specific sides and small missions associated with them and all. Like some will be scared if you're a vampire, some would not. Some are ok if you steal, some won't. From small ai scripts like you can turn them into zombie thralls to make characters kill another person so guards kill them is such a heavy scripting and coding required.
Compare it to GTA, in GTA, NPCs are literally just there to be ran over and get killed, they are scripted to walk towards nothing and just walk around. Important NPCs literally disappear in the world. In ES/FO you can see them live in their homes, visit them and even talk to them. In ES/FO they sleep at night, eat at specfic times, get scared then get alright again, change their dialogues depending on what you do, change clothes sometimes to sleeping and waking up, some pick up weapons when fighting, some fight some run.
Compare it to Witcher, Witcher doesn't even have options to bring in companions. It doesn't have NPC scripts to mess around with them when you're bored. City are just boring running sections because it doesn't have anything worthwhile doing. In ES/FO you can steal people's items, put stuff in their pockets, steal their clothing, kill them when they sleep, go into their houses. They actually have houses named to them and beds.
Compare it to Dark Souls. Dark Souls NPCs literally just fade away and appear teleporting. in ES/FO you actually see them run towards areas. You see them fight enemies and have AI going to places. They aren't pop in pop out NPCs Souls do. ES/FO Characters actually fight and defend themselves and not be standing around doing nothing NPCs in souls.
ES and Fallout even have tons of hard to do things like Building, designing by grabbing items in specific items like barrels and display cases, picking up items and dropping them, STEALTH gameplay, sneaking, you can turn it into first person and third person angle and still play good, exploration is better as you can go to more places not just blocked by invisible walls or ledges, cast magic that changes ai like making enemies fight each other to reviving corpses and tons tons more. Actually explore the entire city inside and out and castle unlike Souls Games towns and Witcher towns.
It is still the most Roleplay Game ever
-You have so much things you can do that no other player would experience completely -Souls, you literally are what the story tells you are, an undead who is prophecized to kill the bosses and talk to NPCs and then whatever ending you choose. You can't be the asshole raider who steals people's teddy bears. You can't be the cannibal vampire at night. You can't be the guy who uses talking to get pass enemies and tough choices. You can't be the guy who started out with hairstyle and face and change halfway because you went to a plastic surgeon -WitcheDragon Age you can't do anything geralt wouldn't do. Your character can't lie straight up to a person you're talking to siding with them and then literally stab them as they sleep. You can't fire an arrow from a house roof and kill a person and not be seen assassinating the target. You can't go invisible and go inside someone's home to wait at night to turn into a werewolf to eat them in their home. -GTA you can't even talk to NPCS, you can't interact with barely anything, you just drink and can't even eat as interactions. Just sit down and take pictures. In ES/FO you can build a tower of cheese, hoard hundreds of watermelons and drop them on a mountain hitting people below. Put a dozen bodies of guards on a hole in a ditch somewhere to hide the evidence.
-There's so much scripts and roleplay you can get with these games, people don't see how much options they have without really going back to it
Companions are one of the best things in all of gaming
Not everyone wants games to be COOP with online people, some people don't have the luxury of hanging out with people playing a game in the exact time and exact moment to have internet and mic sets on. Some people sometimes just want 30 minutes of a sidequest and have the feel of doing it with someone. And that's how companions work. Witcher, you're always alone. GTA characters are more burdens and would run away during moments you want them to help. Dark Souls allies only appear when they feel like or during bosses only.
The fact that even you can join them, put them in different armors you want, them react to areas and moments and how people react to them and sometimes even talk to them is amazing in terms of scripting.
Like this examples:
We see Nick Valentine in Fallout 4, a synth who gets berated in Brotherhood of Steel as they stare at him and sometimes talk to him about being a synth. You see Jzargo, a khajiit who wants to learn magic and starts with him testing magic on you, then wants to help you in return, then he has unique dialogues only he can say, you can kill him if you want, turn him into a zombie or whatnot, magic cast him mad and let him be killed by guards. And he's like 1 of dozens of characters you can hire. You can even romance characters in Fallout 4, yeah in Witcher and GTA there's partial romance, but it's like romance is for sex scenes only. F4 you went through them in battles where ever you went and sleep whenever you two wanted and not just when the game tells you can now.
In Souls, there's literally a Father waiting for his daughter who is outside the door and they don't know each other is out there. Your character doesn't even speak yet people talk like you said something. In ES/FO you can choose many decisions and not just Yes or No. Ask them earlier convos you missed.
In Souls Characters act like stupid characters like the Onion Knights where they stand in an area doing nothing or sleeping while monsters attack you and they talk like they're your friend. In ES/FO they'll actually help you if you get attacked and they're near you and even give out hellos on their own. Souls Characters talk to you once and then repeat a line, in Fallout or Skyrim characters change up what they say. Characters in ES/FO actually thank you for helping them or healing them. Not just stand in an area saying their 4 lines of dialogue like in Souls.
In Witcher you can't even bring anyone anytime, when's the part you and your friends or yennefer, triss or even ciri went up against monster hunting in a big long adventure? none, it's all one mission only and they disappear. You can't even hire, isn't hiring suppose to be a lore friendly thing witchers could do.
The only true bad thing I would agree on these 2 games are the mainline story quests. The side quests are tons better sometimes
Skyrim main storyline is bad, you get these 2 old hags who wants to kill dragons, go meet ghosts and kill the dragon in a kinda anticlimactic fight, but looks visually good though as you fight in their version of heaven.
Fallout 4 don't even get started on teleportation and the dumb brain travel sequence and how they wasted the amazing story they could have made with the big reveal of your son being the leader of the institution.
I'll give out 3 random ideas that are already fun and kinda cool to think about for each game and see how it's fun to imagine and get behind to compared to what we have to do in the main games
Skyrim --You meet dragons who are good but are afraid of you, or just away from all the troubles living in harmony in some hidden area, you get to choose to massacre the entire clan or group or help them redeem dragonkind, you can give them in towns to defend the town so people help feed them etc. If they showed Paarthunax turning good, then why stop there, why are dragons have to be big giant lizards, why can't there be smaller weaker ones who wanted nothing from the big bad ones. --You meet an underbelly of Khajiits or drugtraders who are in a big skooma dealing kingpin mafia type of deal, you get a Khajiit Breaking Bad Gus who owns the entire skooma operation, you get to decide whether to stop the entire operation or be part of it like ScarFace. The main story is that they are making half the soldiers high on skooma and can affect the grand battle. --You meet dragon worshippers and sellouts. People who sided with the dragon who would stop you and stop the end of Alduin. They are promised they can live on Sovngard or spared by Alduin if they side with the Dragon. Hell, why not go all the way, you can side with Alduin and kill every major jarl, cause complete chaos why not. Sequels can always say skyrim is locked in an endless war of dragons and jarls. So in the end, what you do can have many alternate endings.
Fallout 4 -You get to choose in a climactic fight between a coalition that involves half of your companions and helpful people that wants to kill institution, you now get this big decision to choose to kill your own son and his friends vs killing the friends that sacrificed everything to get you to your son
-Your son can live, period. seriously, Fallout New Vegas they made so far that you can literally talk the entire war out of the final climactic fight. The son getting sick is not even a story thing that needs to happen because there's a story where you kill the institution and there's one you didn't, meaning future games can say the institute not having a leader or still alive doesn't matter.
-You can put brains of characters who can die on robots, the game was already stupidly futuristic enough to make clones, synths and even teleportation, and we literally see sentrybots using brains to power them up. A fun story would have been put Kellogs brain in one, or put your son in, or any other major side character in a robot. Put it in to help support a future where people can live longer but in a robot body and all.
See these stories, very simple and would have been doable easy on their scripts and storytelling, but no, it's all the game had are mostly anticlimactic main story quests. The side quests are amazing though, the brotherhood, werewolves, the Silver Shroud, Cabot house, companion side quests.
Conclusion
I hope there's more love to the hard work these games actually have to go do. These aren't games that keep getting pumped out in 2-3 years like Assassins Creeds, CODs, or Far Cry Games, these games take like 5-6 years per game, they take time, more effort and hard work than what people recognize it as.

My brother is addicted

Hi guys. I know, this problem belongs to my brother.. not me.
I’ve been wanting him to stop playing games. Our wifi data always ran out every week. Because of him .. playing too much online games, which causes eating so many data. We don’t want to spend alot of money for the wifi. Our budget is already struggling because of him.
His body clock is literally fucked up now, and easily broken. He plays 15+ hours a day.. and going to sleep in 6-7 AM—ish..
I’ve been thinking some solutions to stop him. I don’t want to talk him cause i’m very mad and i don’t like him. I can’t even talk with my mom for the solution. cause i’m mad at her aswell. Few weeks ago, she doesn’t give a fuck at my brother’s addiction. and told me to normalize it.
I asked my several friends to report his profile user in online games to disable it, i know it sounds rude.. this is my atleast solution i can think of.. without changing the wifi password, or the computer password, downloading cold penguins, and etc.. he own his computer. but i’ll never tolerate him overusing it.
He’s turning 23 and his games are Roblox, some gta online i guess? and so much more. But sure.. he can make internet friends out there, but i’m talking about his unhealthy gaming.
It’s so crazy and i felt so much embarrassed having brother like this. He doesn’t even help us from doing common chores. My other siblings gave up looking at his problem, they just ignore him like “whatever, i have no choice”.
I’m seeking for smart solutions. Hopefully this could be solved no matter how hard it is.
I salute to those StopGaming users out there, fighting with their struggles. I hope all of you have a great day.

I'm a convert (my first week with Stadia)

I own a PS4 and a Switch, and the last time I looked into Stadia, I was disappointed to find they still hadn't worked around the whole iOS thing. So I've been happy enough playing on PS4 and Switch at home, and Switch away from home. But always had the issues of storage management and slow loading/downloading/installing on the PS4, and not having my favourite games on the Switch.
Last week I found out Stadia is finally available for iOS so I thought I'd try out a couple of games - Destiny and the Immortals demo. Both played fine at work on my lunch break although not as smooth as I'd like. But played smoothly enough at home and at my girlfriends. I immediately went on a spending spree the moment the Ubisoft sale started - lucky timing! I'm a big Ubisoft fan, and my favourite game last year (that really helped me through furlough here in the UK) was AC Origins. I am yet to start Odyssey but bought that too, along with GR Breakpoint, Division 2, Watchdogs 2, ESO, and Hitman on Pro trial among several others. I've realised I have quickly become an addict! It's so exhilarating knowing I can buy a game and not worry about storage anymore, and can play it immediately! Being an advocate of streaming and digital purchases, this is what I'm used to with movies and tv shows already, and now I have the same service with gaming. Not only that, my favourite games too. Unlike with the Switch (great as it is), I can finally play Division, GR and AC Origins away from home on my iPad. Yes, I've tried PS Remote Play, and that's good too to be fair. And it was a toss up between committing to Stadia or just sticking with that. But yesterday I connected to my PS4 at work and loaded The Division - omg the loading time was horrendous! I was immediately getting impatient, and before the game even started, I quit out of PS4 Remote Play and put Division 2 on Stadia, and was playing within a minute. That was the final decision maker for me.
I'm amazed that in the short space of a week, I have gone from being all set to buy a PS5 and struggling to get one along with the millions of others around the world, to not even wanting to bother anymore. All those poor people wanting their console, and I realise I don't even need one. The pure ease of use - buying a game and immediately being able to play it, having access to dozens of games when ever you like without having to manage storage beforehand, faster frame rates and better graphics than the PS4 along with much quicker load times, access to all my favourite games away from home as well as in the home, all makes this a no brainer.
Negatives I can see so far:
  1. No access to save files. While this usually won't be an issue, games such as AC Unity don't give any management of saves within the game itself. You can't delete a save, and can't create a new save or create a new game. You can replay missions, but basically this means on Stadia AC Unity cannot be replayed from scratch after the first time. On console you'd simply delete the save file to do so. I have sent feedback for this.
  2. No way to hide titles in your library. What if you Claim a Pro title and don't like it? You can't remove or hide from your library so it sits there at the bottom of your list. Also, as stated I tried Immortals demo. I have now bought the game while it is on sale. Trouble is, I still have the demo listed in my library as well as the full game. I can't hide or remove the demo! How silly is that? I contacted support and they just said send feedback, so once again I have done.
  3. Not enough games to tempt friends over. I have all but one of the games I love to play on Stadia, thanks to Ubisoft. But there are plenty of titles still missing. There's no way my daughters will be tempted as there is no GTA or Fortnite. I'm also missing the first The Division game.
  4. I think there needs to be an option to limit frame rate to 30 for areas where your internet isn't good enough for 60, just like they have a limit setting for resolution. Again feedback sent.
Otherwise, I'm loving Stadia, and for the most part it's everything I want it to be. Good luck to those still after a PS5 - screw the scalpers!

Her Name was Mano Aloe: A Fan Documentary of Hololive's Graduated Succubus

Hello to everyone.
About a week from now, on October 28, the birthday of an idol who graduated 3 months ago will be coming up. For those of you who are new to this subreddit, in all likelihood you don’t know who this person is, which is understandable and I encourage you to keep reading. For those who do, I hope that day is one of celebration rather than sadness for all of you. With her birthday coming up, I wanted to give a documentary of the short, but impactful journey of the succubus of 5th gen to those who've fallen into the rabbit hole. And while she isn’t officially a part of the group as of today, for many she will always be remembered as the idol who was lost, but never forgotten. Today I’d like to share with you the story of Mano Aloe and her impact on Hololive.
*As a disclaimer, please do not go to any Hololive member streams to discuss this topic. In addition, please do not start arguing with any of the groups or people mentioned in this post.

The Beginning of Holofive

On August 5th of 2020, five new members were announced and declared for the 5th generation of Hololive and would soon be given the nickname “Holofive,” not only because of their status as the 5th generation, but also because they happened to have five members (though most JP generations have that group layout, barring Hololive Gamers and Hololive Gen 0).
【#ほろふぁいぶ】ホロライブ5期がデビュー!!本日よりTwitterにて活動開始!!
🎉Please Give a Warm Welcome to Hololive 5th Generation!🎉 : Hololive
They would subsequently all use Twitter in the days before their debuts, and many flocked to interact with them. It was an unprecedented amount of communication, not only with fans but with their senior coworkers as well. This became a major reason for their sudden boom in popularity before their debuts even started.
Aloe, unfortunately, was a special case. At the time, many remember Kageyama Shien, a member of the 3rd gen of Holostars, as having his Twitter profile locked out and banned for nearly a month the day after his debut, most likely due to the fact that he may have set his age to be 0. Aloe, on the other hand, had been locked out of Twitter the day of her announcement. Cover Corp came out with a statement about it, and Aloe was unfortunately restricted from using Twitter for a couple of days before eventually joining the rest of her crewmates in the festivities.
5th Gen Mano Aloe pulled a Shien on twitter : Hololive
A week later, their debuts would be broadcast every day of the week, with the lineup starting at Yukihana Lamy, followed by Momosuzu Nene, Shishiro Botan, Mano Aloe, and finally, Omaru Polka.
Mano Aloe, the 4th one to debut, is described as this in her bio:
“A headstrong, mischievous succubus-in-training who dreams of becoming the Diva of the Demonic Realm. Can dish it out, but can’t take it. After learning of Hololive from an acquaintance, she decided to come test out her charms in the human realm.”
She was 15 years old when she debuted on August 15, 2020, and was 150 cm. Her birthday is October 28, and she enjoyed watching horror movies, making bento boxes, and singing. She also enjoyed cleaning rooms (besides her own), and had a distaste for bugs of all sorts (including butterflies) as well as a hatred for riddles and studying. Here’s a translation of her slides during her debut.
I translated three slides from Aloe's debut stream : Hololive
On her debut, she sang Koshi Tantan(虎視眈々) as a bold opening that separated herself from the rest of her peers starting off. Many people will remember that she also brandished a vocoder when singing, providing that energetic, autotune-like vibe to the song that many found great to listen to. She also sang the song “Happy Synthesizer (ハッピーシンセサイザ),” as a finisher to her stream, defining herself as an idol who primarily wanted to see herself on the big stage singing for her fans.
One of the quirks of her character design was that one of her horns was smaller than the other; lorewise, it would grow as time went on and she became more mature, and it’s speculated that once she got to her 3d debut, it would be fully grown. Her model also had a position where her tail would hold up her mic like a mic stand, which was dubbed the “akumic,” (Which combines “akuma,” which means devil or demon, and “microphone,” which shortens to mic) and many fanarts made use of that little detail.
sadly we wont see her grow anymore : Hololive
#Holofive Mano Aloe ✨✨ #LustfulSubbubus - Hololive

Many might also remember that she was quite open about her clothing and body, going so far as to reveal the panties of her character model that her mother(illustrator) Guchico had drawn up for her on her Twitter (Due to Aloe's Twitter closing down, the tweet in question is unavailable. Since this is official art, I have decided not to post any links here in case this violates any rules, as it is not on the artist's official Twitter either. A quick search for it on Danbooru is the easiest way to find it.) Not only was this in character, but it led to speculation that her personality might have ended up being somewhat similar to Shion’s spoiled brat personality, known as a “kusogaki” by the older Hololive members.
[Kiryu Coco] After 3 months of 5th gen [Aki Rosenthal, Yuzuki Choco, Amane Kanata, Hololive Eng Sub]
After each of the 5th gen’s streams, all of the members who debuted would talk with each other afterwards to chat and interact with the others. Some may remember the cute songs that Momosuzu Nene would sing for each member once they debuted. (Lamy wa Fuwafuwa, La-Lion, Ma! Ma-Ma-Ma-Mano!, etc.) Holofive seemed to be a rousing success. Until disaster struck just a day later.

The Apology and the Beginning of Skepticism

On August 17, 2020, a stream popped up on Aloe’s YouTube channel titled “大事なお知らせ,” which roughly translated to “Important Announcement.” It is privated on her channel as of right now. Cover Corp nor Hololive issued any statement about the stream or anything pertaining to Aloe before it was made, so many were unaware of its contents beforehand, including Reddit:
Aloe important announcment in 15 minutes. : Hololive
The stream itself was around six minutes. In it, Aloe revealed to the audience that she had breached the terms of her contract with Cover Corp by accident. According to her, a Live 2D (L2D) broadcast of her testing her model out was dug up and found out by the public that happened during May of 2020. At the time, Aloe had requested permission from her manager to try out her model on a previously owned account, one that would later expose her private life to a startling degree.
The manager complied with her request and she most likely spent a while trying out the rigging of her model before finishing up. However, neither her nor her manager had actually ended that test, leaving a backdoor for people to find. It was password protected, but someone was able to find it and trace it back to her. This would lead to a multitude of doxxing attempts onto the talent. She would further go on to address rumors and the concerning amount of harassment around her.
According to her, many people had used the private information dug up to start harassing a male acquainted with her; it was speculated that the man was her boyfriend, or something of that status, but she addressed that she and him had no current relationship at the time the video was made and had went their separate ways before her debut.
There were also many cases of doxxing and harassment from people. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term, doxxing is defined as the action of “search[ing] for and publish[ing] private or identifying information about (a particular individual) on the Internet, typically with malicious intent,” according to Oxford Dictionary. The reason why the L2D leak was extremely serious was that it led to her private accounts being found out and spread across the internet.
A video on twitcast of an utaite with an almost identical voice to Aloe’s was found and posted to other websites, and contained information that many Japanese fans considered sensitive and foreboding of Aloe’s ability to ruin Hololive as a company. As a result, information such as her private twitter account, old niconico account, and even landline address were found out. She received many messages from random strangers to her own household from that. It is unknown what was said in these messages or if she even listened to all of them, but the fact of the matter stood that people knew sensitive information, perhaps even up to where she lived. These private details were not brought up in the apology video in question, but it became one of the biggest points of contention surrounding her. If you’d like more information about the twitcast video in question, I created a post on VirtualYoutubers trying to debunk the allegations against her when the surge of hatred started to pile up. I will not link it in case it violates the rule against leaking information about past lives. It's on my profile though if you're interested.
After this video, Aloe would be suspended from streaming activities for an entire two weeks, and would not be allowed to communicate with any of her fans, nor her fellow Gen 5 members publicly.
The community was immediately embroiled in discussion and speculation. Many were concerned about her stunted growth as a result of the two week ban from streaming; After all, Gen 5 had been growing at an unparalleled rate, so seeing her having two weeks of streaming denied after her debut was extremely detrimental. Many also threw shade at Cover Corp, Hololive’s parent company, as well as Hololive, and Yagoo, Cover Corp’s CEO.
For context, Hololive had been in a series of unfortunate circumstances regarding their talents that led to public opinions about their ineptitude in handling problems, both internally and externally. Some of them include:
Yozora Mel being harassed and stalked:
Yozora Mel just tweeted this. I do not understand Japanese, any idea on what happened? : Hololive

The deletion/privating of many Hololive videos:

The concern about Aloe being harassed and doxxed by random strangers led to a growing concern about how Hololive would handle the situation, and contributed to the negativity surrounding the entire incident. This would, unfortunately, lead to one of the darkest times in Hololive history.

The Two Week Ban and the Divide

What followed was a massive divide between fans, primarily between Japanese and overseas fans. As a result of the language barrier, overseas fans were not able to deal with the situation as quickly as Japanese fans. The lack of translations led to fans taking it into their own hands to try and assess the situation, leading to a lack of understanding of the entire situation. Many of the translations were misleading or flat out wrong too; For example, a lot of users were very confused about her situation since some translations painted the L2D leak as the same incident as the private twitcast video, which was blatantly false. Many who gave out translations were also very opinionated and lacked the entire picture of why Japanese fans were outraged. Some Japanese comments flooded Reddit, with the idea that overseas fans had no idea about the circumstances surrounding Aloe’s incident and implied an idea of unequal standing between Japanese fans and overseas fans. These were, of course, received poorly, and many were quick to realize that these statements were copied and pasted as if coordinated to offend overseas fans or set a precedent. And they were.
It should be noted that many of the people against Aloe fell under the term “anti.” While it’s a universal term, people who are considered antis deliberately take actions against another person or talent with the end goal of ruining, hurting, slandering, or harassing their target, whether it be through death threats, doxxing, or spamming them with negative comments. Their goal in this endeavor was to disguise themselves as “fans” of Hololive and spread disorder and distrust amongst the community. They’d pose as concerned fans who wanted Cover Corp to succeed, and for Aloe to be fired for the “greater good” of the company and the safety of its talents. This would lead to actual fans sharing the same or similar sentiments to this idea, leading to much more backlash against her compared to previous incidents. After all, the idea of an idol leaking the sensitive information of other talents didn't seem too far-fetched. It was a fear that many, unfortunately, fell victim to.
The initial problem that overseas fans gleamed from Japanese comments was that she had been hiding evidence pertaining to having a boyfriend previously, and that the tweets she had put out on her private account were sexual in nature. Two main tweets were discussed:
  1. She had tweeted and joked about a “sashimi dildo," which was accompanied by a picture of said object.
  2. Largely paraphrased, but she tweeted out that “Is it true that if you become an utaite, it's easy to get laid?,” or something of that extent.
Now before you judge these tweets, do be aware that these were made nearly four years before she even debuted as Mano Aloe; while Hololive requires you to be a legal adult to work at their agency, it’s been speculated that she was pretty young at the time of those tweets. To paraphrase another reddit user, “dumb teenagers will do dumb teenager things.” It’s also worth mentioning that these tweets usually had the dates cropped out to show them out of context and purposefully frame Aloe in a bad light by those looking to defame her.
This led some Redditors to blame the idol culture in Japan quite heavily, and Japanese fans were generalized to fit this perspective. While this may have been the case for some, it definitely was not the case for all. In fact, the majority of Japanese people criticizing Aloe were fixated more on the twitcast video, which I will talk about shortly. Even then, most Japanese fans wished for her return and for her to simply reflect on her mistake. Many on Reddit felt the need to lash out at Japanese fans and their culture in general, to the extent that some comments started becoming borderline racist.
[Aloe] please don't use current situation as an attempt to generalise JPN fans or sow division : Hololive
The second, and much more serious problem, stemmed from a certain part of the twitcast video (Note: This was made in mid-October of 2019, nearly 10 months before her debut). In this video, the girl revealed sensitive information from a talent of another company, specifically addressing the reason for her retirement. She claimed to be an acquaintance of (or acquaintanced with) this person, and stated that they left due to private information being found out and exposed to the public. The problem is that this statement could not be identified as completely true by fans. Many who were familiar with this company and this person remarked that the circumstances surrounding her retirement were quite different from the statement the girl issued, and people began to believe that her statement was likened to a rumor, which many found extremely offensive. They thought that her statement tarnished the name of the character that retired, and that it brought about rumors that were unnecessary in nature. Unfortunately, this sentiment would be lost on the overseas fanbase for a while after the initial news. Even then, many were of the opinion that doxxing and harassing her over such a statement was unjustified. This was the main issue dividing the community: Some fans thought the punishment and treatment from fans were too harsh; Others thought her punishment wasn’t severe enough. And of course, this was exacerbated by the lack of direct communication between both sides. Until she came back, the Hololive community would have to form their own opinions about how to handle the situation.

Support and the Formation of M.A.S.S.

So what did the fans do while they waited for Aloe to return? They showed their support. They made sure to let Aloe know that she had fans who were there to greet her when she came back. They got to work on preparing for her return and spreading positivity throughout the community. Through this ban period, a resurgence of artists shared their reinvigoration for their hobbies as they tried to find a way to show their support for Aloe. People who had editing skills, people who drew, even people who simply wanted to send their thoughts to Aloe flooded the subreddit with heartfelt messages, memes, drawings and other forms of media. People found motivation to pick up old hobbies to show their love for Aloe despite her very short time in Hololive. The entire subreddit, her YouTube channel, and her Twitter account buzzed with life.

From this wave of support for Aloe, a group known as the Mano Aloe Support Squad was formed, a discord server with the goal of showing fan appreciation for Mano Aloe (It would later be renamed the Manotomo Alliance Support Squad). Multiple messages would be posted onto the Hololive subreddit asking people to join their cause, and for the most part it was well-received by the community:
Please help support Mano Aloe! : Hololive
The Mano Aloe Support Squad needs you help! : Hololive
M.A.S.S. had a multitude of goals, but the main idea was to show fan support for Aloe during her two week suspension as to make sure she knew people were waiting for her return. The main form of support was through a group effort to use Aloe’s hashtags to send kind messages and fanart on certain days of the week. This project would be divided based on the timezones of different countries and initiated every day based on the JST timezone. The template usually revolved around sending in a picture of the country you were from, some interesting facts about it, and a kind message to show support for her. Using #魔乃アロエ and #魔の友, Aloe’s Twitter was flooded with warm, caring comments from all around the world in an attempt to show the appreciation fans had for her.
In addition to this, multiple collaborations would be made for when she would return: Small games were made with themes centered around Aloe and her Manotomo’s, the name of which she’d call her fans. Pages and pages of fanart were filled with support for Aloe. Thousands of comments wished the best for her, and that they were waiting for her to come back. Someone even made an entire website dedicated to storing all of these little projects, so I suggest you check it out if you have the time!
Manotomo
Of course, the public support for her wasn’t always a positive influence. It contributed to some of the negatives as well. A couple of days into the ban week, it should be noted that harassment attempts against Aloe had decreased a little. Antis are known to move from target to target once their efforts on one end start becoming fruitless, tiring, or boring, and after a few days of radio silence on her end there didn’t seem to be much going on. There are two notable events, however, that seemed to reignite their efforts to harass Aloe.
The first event was their discovery of the M.A.S.S. server. Through one means or another, they were able to find information about the existence of a group solely dedicated to showing support for Aloe, the exact target they wanted to harass. Whether one had joined the server previously as some sort of insider or through chance, it became clear to them that there was an active overseas group who wanted Aloe back; and that only made their efforts harsher. Once more, they took to Twitter and YouTube to flood Aloe with negative comments and spam, determined to destroy the efforts of those showing support in addition to harassing her.
https://www.reddit.com/Hololive/comments/ik33hb/thank_you_note_to_mass/g3i5y7f/?context=3
The second event was the direct confrontation of fans with antis on 5ch and 2ch (Japanese message boards that are very similar to our version of 4chan). Unfortunately, some overseas fans had gone over to their threads to spam them with angry comments and similar messages on their own turf, which was a terrible idea in hindsight. The point is that fans provoked the hornet’s nest, which led to more and more backlash against Aloe as the week progressed.
While both of these events are debatable in terms of influencing her final outcome, it is a fact that the major outspoken support for Aloe resulted in an equal opposition of hatred and harassment on the opposite side. And unfortunately, as the day of her suspension being lifted got closer and closer, nobody would be able to predict what was about to happen.

Retirement, and Loss

On Monday, August 30, 2020, right when she was about to come out of her two week ban, a statement came out from Cover Corp concerning Aloe’s situation. Due to personal reasons, she would be graduating from Hololive after everything that had happened through a mutual agreement with the company, one that she herself decided upon. She’d later graduate the day after, and her page on the Vtuber wikipedia would eventually be put in the “former members” section:
Important Announcement Regarding Mano Aloe : Hololive
https://virtualyoutuber.fandom.com/wiki/Mano_Aloe
Soon after the news hit, Shishiro Botan, one of the members of 5th gen, came out with an impromptu stream a few minutes after the announcement was made, along with the rest of her genmates. This suggested that this news came as a surprise even to them. All of them reacted differently, but it was clear that all of them were deeply hurt by the news; Lamy and Nene can be heard crying toward the end of their portions of the video. Polka’s serious and deeper voice only added to the gravity of the situation, and Botan took on the role of leading them through the entire stream with a somber tone to her voice. Everything felt like a punch to the gut. The video can be found below. It also has official English subtitles for those who don’t understand Japanese:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCqDv94ZeuA
Meanwhile, antis were celebrating Aloe’s graduation. On Botan’s announcement stream, there were a few Japanese comments that said things like “SHE’S FINALLY GONE!” and “Stop crying, we know those are fake tears,” amongst other insensitive stuff. Originally, there were Reddit posts that screenshotted these comments, but they should be on Botan’s stream if you’re willing to find them unless they’ve been removed and reported. Many reported that the threads full of antis on 2chan and 5chan were vibrant and ecstatic to see that they managed to get one of Hololive’s idols to graduate. But for the Hololive community, many were heartbroken to witness a new idol, one with so much promise and potential, being harassed out of her dream job.
The news was a massive blow to everyone, and in the following weeks fans were overcome with grief and anguish. Morale on the subreddit dropped. Some climbed out of the Hololive rabbit hole from the sheer shock of Aloe retiring. Some became disappointed in Cover for failing to protect Aloe from the harassment. Others took a break from Hololive in general just to get their thoughts in order. A couple tried to stay positive and tough it out, warning people to never forget this incident. It became one of the darkest eras that Hololive has ever gone through.

Understandably, many posts were made discussing the entire situation. As soon as the news hit, the new tab was flooded with posts about Aloe's graduation, and it cluttered the subreddit. It got to the point that any discussion posts outside the announcement thread needed to be deleted to keep the subreddit from devolving into utter chaos. Some fanarts stayed up, but nearly all posts about Aloe with the "Discussion" flair were removed for quite a while after the announcement, and people were asked to relocate to the megathread regarding her graduation for discussion. It should be noted that many were unaware of the grander picture, and only saw the moderators deleting posts related to Aloe, leading many to believe that they were forcefully trying to stifle any attempts at discussing Aloe's graduation. This was remedied quickly, but for the first couple of days many were angry to see Hololive deleting the individual discussion threads for seemingly no reason.

Not only that, but people began to criticize Cover Corp for their inability to protect her from the harassment. As stated, after the slew of mismanagement problems behind the scenes, this became the breaking point for a lot of fans. Cover Corp criticism and hatred spiked immensely, with some people berating and feeling disappointed for how Cover Corp handled the situation.

I do, however, want to enlighten some people as to the possible reasons for their actions during this time, since this is very important as to how things were handled. I won’t try to defend or attack their actions, but I do want to make sense of some of the aspects happening during the entire incident.
Thankfully, there were some uplifting moments during these troubling times. Right after the news of Aloe’s retirement became public, Shirakami Fubuki started an impromptu stream of Fall Guys, and many flocked to her to take their mind off of Aloe’s graduation. While she didn’t address the situation directly, the timing and abruptness of the stream made it clear why she decided to stream.

Aki Rosenthal also came out rather quickly with a singing stream with another vtuber named ASHINO, who played the guitar alongside her.

Aloe’s fellow genmates were also quick to show their support for her. Momosuzu Nene in particular was very vocal about her support for Aloe. At the time, there were major concerns with Aloe being depicted in official art or banners tied to Holofive; on the Hololive channel, Aloe’s avatar was no longer shown with the other four members, and the Aloe flair on the Hololive subreddit was legitimately considered for being removed. Nene, however, made her own choice, and decided to remember Aloe in her own special way. If you go onto her Twitter, her banner is a drawing of all the Holofive members, including Aloe. Even during the initial fallout, Nene was insistent on Aloe remaining a member of Holofive, regardless of what happened.

The weeks following her retirement, the subreddit was often filled with bittersweet memes and discussion posts about people’s feelings for Aloe and her graduation. Some people were even so distraught that just looking at the rest of Holofive brought back memories of Aloe. Though since then, her fans have gotten better. Every so often, fanarts of her make their way on this subreddit, and while many were, and are still sad about her retirement, many have also come to terms with it and enjoy the occasional fanarts of her. To us, the Manotomos, she has left her mark on Hololive, even though she is long gone.

The Aftermath and Her Legacy

So what has changed since her retirement? What’s become of Hololive’s 5th generation? What has Hololive done now that they’ve lost one of their idols? The simple answer is that while there are some problems, for the most part they are still going strong. One of the biggest changes that has come from Aloe’s incident is the formation of company measures against doxxing and harassment against their talents, not only from Cover Corp, but Ichikara (Nijisanji’s parent company) as well:
A Statement Regarding Measures Against the Harassment of Hololive Production Talents : Hololive
Ichikara (Nijisanji parent company) has established a team dedicated to "Fighting Libel, Abuse, Defamation, and Offensive Acts against Our Talents" : VirtualYoutubers
Before Aloe’s retirement, both of these companies did not contain any public statements regarding the protection of their talents that were heavily enforced, or seemed to be publicly. However, shortly after Aloe’s retirement, Ichikara came out with their statement seemingly out of nowhere. It’s been speculated that this had been in the works for a while now considering Nijisanji also faced similar harassment months prior to Aloe’s case, but it had been rushed forward in response to Aloe’s situation. Not too far afterwards, Hololive came out with their statement as well, and actually kept their promise; they’ve gone through with multiple C&D’s on channels leaking information from 4chan to YouTube:
"Anti V-Tuber" channels seem to be getting obliterated by Hololive
Hololive just DESTROYED "Anti V-Tuber" YouTube channel by sending Yagoo's Special Forces
Well what about the fanbase? Have they forgotten about Aloe after Hololive EN and everything that’s happened? Well I exist, and this post exists, so there’s that. But in all seriousness, many have not forgotten about Aloe, and continue to remember her to this day. Many continue to wear their Aloe flairs proudly, and others continue to remember Aloe’s influence in Hololive. Many have even used their experience with Aloe’s situation to make the most of Coco and Haachama’s situation by combating antis through reporting and laying low to wait for their idols to come back with great success. I’m typing this in advance, but I assume that her birthday is filled with warm posts from her fans. Hopefully, you’ll be able to send her your best wishes as well if you’d like.

Closing Remarks

This is where her story ends for now. But, the very short memories of her live on in those who were there to witness it. Perhaps in the future, those of us still in Hololive will smile when we remember the succubus that could have been. I hope that once her birthday comes around, you'll be able to join me in wishing her a happy birthday. Whether you were a fan of hers, or are new to Hololive, or just happened to stumble onto this post, I hope I was able to tell her story well.
Her name was Mano Aloe, and don’t you dare forget it.
Edit: Happy Birthday Aloe.

I am tired and exhausted playing video games( Extremely Long)

I (turned 18 this October) used to play a lot of games. I was very fond of games since my childhood. I used to play on whatever platform I was offered to play games on. In early childhood, coming from an under-developed/developing Asian country, I had not much to game on other than keypad mobile my parents used to have, T.V, video game that was gifted to me, and later in our PC that was brought home for my sister when I was in grade 3 and used to sneak in and play whenever she was not home.
I was not necessarily the most hard-working student yet I was sharp minded and used to do well in class despite low to no effort and end up being the class topper. I had no PC of mine, I was still sharing PC with my sister until grade 10. As I was going into higher classes, I was being more hardworking and meritorious student. I ended up being a Valedictorian with a GPA of 3.90/4.00. I used to play games like age of empires, CS source with bots, Need for Speed, Road Rash, WWE, GTA, World of Warcraft: Frozen Throne, Diablo 2, FIFA 2005, FIFA 2007, FIFA 2010 etc. which were usually offline. I was extremely fond of each and every game but had limited access and were offline so I wasn't addicted as of that time though I could go hours playing If I had no one home.
I got own smartphone once I graduated middle school and sister already had her own laptop so the PC was also officially mine. Didn't have the latest specs, but was okay enough for moderate gaming. I installed COC in phone once I was done with middle school and played up until TH7 and I was bored and switched to Clash Royale and then comes my first addiction. I was so hooked I used to push ladder, play average of 3-4 hours of Clash Royale daily for 3 months continuously. I did terrible in my exams and my parents knew I was addicted knowing how often they saw me engaged in phone. Also, one day I was hardcore pushing ladder and I lost of game because of internet disconnection and I raged and ended of punching my phone and broke it's screen. I instantly regretted and my parents said they'll have it repaired once I was done with board exams of grade 11. I studied well and scored 3.75/4.00 GPA. My phone was repaired and I was no longer addicted as I knew the game itself wasn't so fun and had me raging most of the time. Maybe the phone broke for good.
I was doing well in studies, had normal life, everything was fine. I wasn't addicted to any specific game but I was addicted to gaming itself. My classmate used to play Counter Strike 1.6 since our PC didn't support CS:GO and we couldn't buy it either. He used to talk about CS and he didn't encouraged me to play, I wasn't pressurized but with my history with CS Source, I wanted to try CS 1.6, play with friends, have fun and be good at it. I started playing CS passionately after I returned home from school for 4-5 hours daily even when I had no friends to play with. Playing random pugs with random people was my daily lifestyle. I started skipping assignments, flunked Chemistry classes and was hooked on CS for so long that I was average/ below average student. I ended up scoring 3.40/4.00 in 12th standard and was disappointed in ownself as well as disappointed my parents.
I was on a vacation there onwards and decided to pursue degree in Computer Science and Engineering. My PC hard disk was dysfunctional suddenly and I only had my phone in the vacation. Again, back to Clash Royale but not as addicted as earlier. Moderate gaming, heavy Youtube and movies. As the vacation was ending and my entrance exams were nearing, my parents bought me a brand new phone, Galaxy S9+ which was latest flagship of Samsung at that time. PUBG mobile was extremely popular and almost every friend were hooked on it and one day I decided to play it ownself too due to peer pressure and wasn't fond of it and didn't play it at all then onwards. I gave my entrance examinations, was enjoying vacations binging web-series and playing Clash Royale once in a while. Did pass the entrance examinations but wasn't eligible for scholarship and coming from upper middle class, my parents could barely afford my education which is quite expensive.
Now comes, MAJOR addictions.
College was about to begin in a month or so and then there was hype of Call of Duty : Mobile and I was also hyped for it and played it in its release of first day and LOVED it and was hooked on then onwards. I was addicted and I knew it and thought I would stop ASAP once the college starts but College started and I was pushing rank in COD : Mobile playing at least 6 hours a day to even 10 hours a day. The addiction was real and I wasn't even well aware of it. Took college lightly and played games after college to late night. My sleep schedule was already messed up since couple of months of vacation and late night gaming. I used to play at least till 12 A.M everyday and sometimes even upto 3-4A.M. Used to fall asleep in class and also scolded by professors and excluded from class. Yet, I played and played. All of a sudden, I lost my phone on my way back home and we did report to police yet it was not to be found. I was super addicted and I had no functional PC and no phone that could run COD: Mobile. I used to sleep most of the time then onwards, started doing assignments due to compulsion yet deep down inside I was desperate AF to play games and had my PC repaired and also upgraded it's graphics card, added extra RAM.
Now comes another tragic addiction. CS:GO was already F2P. I had a lot of my classmates playing it, I/We even used to go to cyber cafes and spend a lot of my pocket money playing CS:GO and lying at home making excuses to waste money and time before I had my own PC rebuilt. I started playing CS:GO and I was super addicted. Board exams of first semester were near and Parents knew I was addicted. They decided to unplug PC until my exams were over. I still procrastinated and didn't study until eleventh hour and studied before 10 days of exam. I did barely enough(results aren't out yet) in the exam as I didn't prepare well. Remaining 5 exams got cancelled due to COVID outbreak.I was actually starting to feel better without any games, frustration of ranking up and without raging. Life was fine, I started talking to a girl I had a crush on. Turned out she liked me too. I started spending my time binging series, building a relationship with her which felt so much better than gaming and it's frustrations. I did almost nothing productive in near 5 months quarantine yet I successfully forged a relationship with her.
Online classes resumed, we had less time to talk. Parents bought me a new laptop, better specs than PC, sister bought herself a new phone and handed her old phone to me which was also S9+. I started playing CS:GO like crazy again. Since we shouldn't be going to college and all day at home, I pened Zoom in background and play CS:GO almost 6-7 hours daily and I even had 128 hours of playtime in two weeks at a certain time , watching live streams, watching every CS:GO event and what not. I was crazily addicted. Semester ended and I had no freaking idea what was taught, paid little to no attention. I did do assignments, but, it was all copied from friends as I was doing it just for the sake of doing assignments and I had no clue what I was being taught. Exams date were published and exams of first semester which was postponed due to COVID outbreak was to be resumed too.

I decided to quit gaming altogether as It brought be no joy and fun playing, constant stimulation of brain, dopamine overdose that I was not a happy person as I used to be, frustrations, rage, lack of sleep, extremely poor academics and pretty much everything was fucked up by now. I stumbled upon this sub reddit and was motivated to quit gaming and I did quit CS:GO but, it lasted only for a week.I played for a week and find it no fun and only frustration and removed steam and every game on my laptop and PC. I still watched live streams since I was easily bored and resisted the temptations to play CS:GO. And now comes another addiction, I stopped playing CS:GO and had no games on my phone either but since It is so easy to remove and reinstall games in phone, I installed COD: Mobile, Clash of Clans and I started playing again. I used to play COC while playing CS:GO too. CS:GO in Laptop and COC in phone. Since, I uninstalled CS:GO, I was hooked to COD: Mobile all over again and started pushing rank not because I was enjoying it a lot but I wanted to achiever top rank(Legendary) which I had already achieved in season 1 and wanted to achieve again and grinded again, everyday 5-6 hours, COC around 1-1.5 hours and social media too.
Coming to present, I have my exams extremely near, to be exact January 14th onwards, and I know almost nothing and how I'll even pass the exams. I played roughly 40+ hours COD this week and I played COD from 8:00 A.M. to 3:12 P.M. with breaks in between and thought I am done with gaming and all this shit dopamine that it releases and frustrations and I'll stop wasting time over it and uninstalled both COD and COC from phone and I have no game in my PC either. Also, I wanted to write this post back then as soon as I stopped gaming yet I wanted to study for a couple of hours and see If I, once a valedictorian, can even study at all and I studied for 30 minutes or so before I was sleepy and had headache due to intense gaming and improper sleep since a week or so.I took a nap, woke up and did little bit of studying , had dinner and posting this right now.
So, I am just 18 year old guy and already in second year of college( I was bright student in childhood so I skipped grade 1 and grade 6 as teachers and parents thought I was capable of recovering by the end of middle school and it'll be better for me in the long run) I am/was in process of ruining my life due to severe gaming addiction of all sort. A lot of damage may have already been done, but, since life is long and I am strongly committed and determined to quit gaming once and for all this time( I actually hate gaming, I don't want to touch games at all, even moderately). My academics are extremely poor and it is my major concern as of now. In the long run, I want to be happy person, , quiz, listening podcasts, improving academics, being more social as I was earlier, enjoy reading books as I used to enjoy before being addicted to gaming.
I have a family that loves me, I have a wonderful girlfriend who loves me, handful of genuine friends. The only problem is with my addiction and my extremely poor academics. I am in the abyss of my life right now.
I feel like shit right now and my exams are from January 14th and there's high probability I may flunk all my exams but I don't want to. Wondering If It's even possible to make it at least barely enough that I don't fail. 15 days preparation leave and then 3 days gap for each exam and total of five tough subjects exam( Jan 14th-Jan 30th) . A lot of damage has been already done and I wonder If I can even recover and how long it may take?
Firstly, I am very glad and thankful to whoever took time to read it and I would like any queries If you have any and also, most importantly advice and suggestions. :)I hope you have a great day ahead. My best wishes are with you. <3
Edit: My eyes hurt and also my shoulder due to heavy screen time and same position. I wish I never played any games :(

My first Red Dead Redemption Experience, 10 years late

I'm not good with essays nor native in english so forgive me if my grammar is all over the place.
I've always had an xbox 360 when I was a kid, but never got to play "real" games because my mom kept buying me kinect games instead. Years later, I'm finally able to play the games I've always wanted to play in my life. One of those games is a game that has been talked around the internet for years for being a masterpiece, Red Dead Redemption. And the fact that the second game already came out like 2 years ago, made me more excited to get into the story.
Seeing that the game was from 10 years ago, I didn't really expect much from it. I just expected it to be a wacky cowboy yeehaw gta game where you shoot up and rob people in the wild west.
Well shit.
I booted up the game, and when I witnessed the opening cutscene, I ALREADY got shivers. It hit me like a truck and made me realize this wasn't just your typical game. The literal second I heard the first soundtrack, Exodus in America, I got goosebumps. Then when I heard the people converse on the train, I immediately got to learn the tone and theme this game is going for. I thought, like I said earlier, this was just gonna be GTA with horses but no. The theme of the game is about the advancement of civilization and what will happen to the old west. I absolutely love it. The characters, althought not "lovable", were absolutely memorable for me. Hell, the cast consists of a conman, a drunk irish, an obviously-soon-to-be dictator, and other crazy fellows. My favorite side characters were Bonnie and Nastas, and tbh I wish the game had more Nastas because he was such a bro.
The end of the game was no surprise for me, because avoiding that spoiler is like avoiding the darth vader reveal. It's inevitable if you're familiar with the internet. Still, it never hindered my experience and just made me more worried about John and his family. I kept thinking, "they cant let me go that easily" or "please, I dont want this to end, just let me have a peaceful farming simulator." I still cried in the end and after the credits rolled.
The atmosphere and scenery of the game was absolutely breathtaking. As I said, I wasn't expecting much from a game that came out 10 years ago because I already know it kinda looks like shit now, but how the hell does this game look so good?! I know the textures are kinda low res but just ignoring that and just staring at everything on the screen, it looks astonishing. I was really taken aback the first time I've ridden a horse because the horizon was so beautiful. I've spent so much time just riding aimlessly and enjoying the view.
The soundtrack just adds so much more to the already amazing experience of the game. The first ride to mexico and the ride back home after dutch was so good I actually shed a tear.
Now of course no game is perfect, I also have problems with this game. These problems were pretty much just my personal problems and I know not everyone will feel the same way.
First, the controls. I know this is typical rockstar controls but I hate furiously tapping A just to run. It just felt like i'm gonna destroy my controller after a while.
Second, aiming. I love the lock-on feature because the game was unplayable for me without it. I only played shooters on PC so I have no idea how to aim on a controller. This is why I absolutely hate the gatling gun missions because I can't aim with a joystick.
Third, post-game. I thought that because of the time-skip, the locations will change. But instead everything just stayed the same, literally.
With that said I still loved the game so much. It's one of my favorite games now and I'm looking forward to play the second game. I really feel like once I finish RDR2, the last parts of RDR1 will have so much more impact.
What about you, how do you feel about RDR? What did you love and hate about this game?
Also just asking about the ending. When John Gets shot a thousand times, on my game he also got shot right in the face and lost his hat, and it really looked gruesome and tragic. When I found clips and gameplays, it showed John with his face and hat intact. Was it just a bug for me because I thought what was shown to me was more tragic. I also have a screenshot if anyone wants to see

[Virtual Youtubers] Her Name was Mano Aloe: A Fan Documentary of Hololive's Graduated Succubus

Hello to everyone.
About a week from now, on October 28, the birthday of an idol who graduated 3 months ago will be coming up. For those of you who are new to Virtual Youtubers or Vtubers (streamers that use anime animated avatars through Live2D) and/or Hololive (agency of Virtual YouTubers created by the company Cover Corp), in all likelihood you don’t know who this person is, which is understandable and I encourage you to keep reading. For those who do, I hope that day is one of celebration rather than sadness for all of you. With her birthday coming up, I wanted to give a documentary of the short, but impactful journey of the succubus of Hololive's 5th gen. And while she isn’t officially a part of the group as of today, for many she will always be remembered as the idol who was lost, but never forgotten. Today I’d like to share with you the story of Mano Aloe and her impact on Hololive.
*As a disclaimer, please do not go to any Hololive member streams to discuss this topic, nor start arguing with any of the groups or people mentioned in this post.

The Beginning of Holofive

On August 5th of 2020, 5 new members were announced and declared for the 5th generation of Hololive and would soon be given the nickname “Holofive,” not only because of their status as the 5th generation, but also because they happened to have five members (though most JP generations have that group layout, barring Hololive Gamers and Hololive Gen 0).
Mano Aloe, by warayanuko : Hololive

It was password protected, but someone was able to break in and find it.
: Hololive

People hearing a male voice during Tokoyami Towa’s livestream after forgetting to mute her mic:
Cover's statement on towa's incident : VirtualYoutubers

The deletion/privating of many Hololive videos:
Hololive current situation megathread/summary : Hololive

Mio taking a break from streaming due to copyright:
Mio is taking an indefinite break from streaming : Hololive

  1. She had tweeted and joked about a “sashimi dildo;” while I am unsure if there was a picture to accompany it, these are the words many people used to reference the tweet.
  2. Largely paraphrased, but she tweeted out that “When I’m famous, I’ll be able to fuck all of my fans,” or something of that extent.
The second, and much more serious problem, stemmed from a certain part of the twitcast video.

This was remedied quickly, but for the first couple of days many were angry to see Hololive deleting the individual discussion threads for seemingly no reason.
mods deleted my tribute video. it's just getting worse : Hololive

What Makes Cyberpunk 2077 “Ambitions”

I’m sitting outside my local library, downloading a megalithic 43GB update because I can’t get internet at my home. It has really got me wondering what I’m missing in Cyberpunk. It’s a cool game, but why is it so huge? And what makes it ambitious?
It doesn’t seem to far away from a first person GTA.
Update——————-
So, obviously I was pretty salty when I posted this. Sitting outside a library for 5 hours at 4am waiting for an update the size of a large video game (when I was expecting a 10GB esque patch) will do that to anybody.
Once I finally got to play the game without the world looking worse than Xbox original graphics, I honestly kinda dig it.
I didn’t expect them to top TW3, it’s a masterpiece. There are definitely still things I could slag off about this game, but it does give me that free roaming mercenary feel.
I kinda still stand in the camp that I’m more disappointed in CDPR than I am in the game. They had built a lot of repor with their fam base only to Bethesda the release, and though they apologized, I feel that CDPR fans are loyal enough that they could have straight admitted that the game wasn’t ready and I still would have bought it.
At the very least to ensure TW4 gets made. As an open world RPG in which you could build a witcher from your favorite school.
If I had to name one thing that bothers me about this game, it’s that V is...a bit of a wuss.

[REQUEST][STEAM] FIFA 21 (on sale)

Hello :) This is my second time requesting a game here. My first request was also for FIFA 21 but it got removed for some reason. So pardon me if I get anything wrong.
I would like to request FIFA 21.
The first FIFA game I've ever played was FIFA 14 on XBOX 360 which came with the console itself. I and my brother spent countless hours playing against each other and perfecting our Ultimate Team. Around 2 years later, my brother's friend gifted my brother a FIFA 16 CD. I remember having loads of fun. I used to sit on my XBOX almost every day after school. Sometimes, we would have our friends over to play the game. Eventually, the game stopped getting updates and it started feeling a bit boring. So, I moved on to other genres of games. It's been so long since I have played FIFA (without considering FIFA mobile that I played for a month recently) and I want to get back to it.
I survived last year mostly by playing Destiny 2 and GTA 5. Destiny 2 was fun for me until they released a new DLC called Beyond Light in November 2020 where they removed almost all the free-to-play content out of the game. And GTA 5 hasn't had a good update in eons and now it is not fun to play with the game lobbies filled with hackers and toxic kids with their flying bikes.
Why am I requesting here? I am a student. So I don't have enough money to buy video games. Also, my parents aren't a huge fan of me spending money on video games. Thus, I'm here.
The game costs 3999 INR (around 60USD). But right now it is on sale on Steam and costs 1680 INR (23USD) I know it is still a lot of money to spend on an internet stranger but I would love it if somebody can buy me this game.
This is my Steam Profile.
Anyways, if you are still reading this, have a good day! :) Thank you!

Normally I would've asked for a steam key but the price is too expensive and I was not able to find a good offer even after hours of searching. I know it is still a lot of money to spend on an internet stranger but I would love it if somebody can buy me this game.
Apparently, I can't share my Origin profile, so here is my Steam Profile

Anyways, if you are still reading this, have a good day! :) Thank you!

Gaming PC Recommendation

I don't know much about Gaming PCs but i want to buy one since i only have an old laptop and i need one for work and gaming. My budget is limited to 600 - 700€. I have thought about buying one on amazon but I've already read many times that the gaming PCs on amazon aren't very satisfying. I want to play games like COD Cold War or GTA V on the highest resolutions without lags while also surfing on the internet without problems. So can anybody recommend me which PC is best for this price, where to get it and what i should pay attention to when i buy it?
Thanks in advance!
